WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

We are thankful for these
encouraging words shared by the pastors and ministry leaders where we have had
the privilege of ministering! |

Dennis & Betty Jo

As
their pastor and personal friend
since 1989, I have watched
Dennis and Betty Jo Conner
practice the very prayer
principles that they teach. They
have served in our men’s and
women’s ministries and have been
effective teachers of prayer in
our church since 1988; and I
know of no greater prayer
warriors than Dennis and Betty
Jo.
I am so thankful for these two
“prayer coaches” and their
faithful commitment to the Word
of God and testimony of Jesus
Christ.
Through their personable and
knowledgeable approach, Dennis
and Betty Jo have ministered to
many inside and outside our
church. Therefore, I want to
encourage you to call upon them
if you sense the Lord prompting
you to do something special
for
your church’s prayer ministry.
Called to Serve Prayer Ministry
is one I recommend with
confidence. |

It
is my privilege to recommend
Dennis and Betty Jo Conner,
founders of Called To Serve
Prayer Ministry. As a
congregation, we have had the
joy and benefit of working with
Dennis and Betty Jo over several
months, as they have led our
church in Building A House of
Prayer. I can testify to their
true love for our Lord and their
commitment to serve Him with an
attitude of excellence.
Beginning with our church staff
and filtering throughout our
congregation, we have seen
tremendous growth in the prayer
life of our church toward
becoming a “house of prayer”:
-
Many adults are discovering
a vibrant new personal
prayer life--and how it can
impact not only their lives,
but also their family’s life
and the life of their
church.
-
Our Wednesday night Prayer
Service has grown by 400% in
these past few months.
-
Our Sunday morning
invitation time has become a
time of freedom for all who
feel led to come to the
altar and seek the face of
our Lord…as a result of the
new prayer ministry that has
started (in a separate room)
during our worship services.
-
We have experienced a
significant increase in
people making decisions…to
accept Jesus Christ as
Savior and/or to join our
church.
-
We are learning the true
power of corporate prayer
and intercession through
prayer.
-
I have had more members than
ever before asking me: “How
can I pray for you and your
staff?”
-
The financial stewardship
offerings have increased
significantly.
As
you consider partnering with
Dennis and Betty Jo, I am
confident that you too will see
the strong walls of a house of
prayer build around your church
family.

I
have been a Senior Pastor for
over 25 years, and have
attempted to make prayer one of
the principle foundations of our
church ministry. With the
current national interest in
prayer ministry, we had been
searching for a means to further
develop our church prayer
ministry and our leadership
decided to host a “Building A
House of Prayer” (BAHOP) Weekend
Conference with Dennis and Betty
Jo Conner.
Not only was the conference
itself edifying and personally
enriching for our members--with
a variety of scriptural praying
methods emphasized--but even the
Conner’s personal involvement
and commitment to our
preparations for the conference
was quite impressive to me. I
would highly recommend Called to
Serve Prayer
Ministry to any pastor and
church that is serious about
advancing their church’s prayer
ministry.

Since
I was burdened by the Lord to
start the new year with a
challenging prayer emphasis, I
invited Called to Serve Prayer
Ministry to conduct such a
special day for our church on
the first Sunday in January.
What a day of spiritual
challenge and refreshment our
congregation experienced through
the three different services
they called a “Prayer Power
Sunday”! Our expectations of the
Lord's blessing upon the first
Sunday of the year were more
than met.
One of the most impacting
things they did was not simply
to “talk and teach” our people
about prayer, but they led us in
a very meaningful “Concert of
Prayer” as the final
part of the Sunday evening
service. We highly recommend the
“prayer coaching” ministry of
Dennis and Betty Jo Conner.

The
pastor, elders and members of
our church found Dennis and
Betty Jo Conner to be humble
people of prayer, who greatly
challenged and blessed our
people through their personal
prayer testimonies and
Bible-soaked prayer teaching. As
a result of this conference, our
leadership has not only decided
that they want our church to
become a biblical “House of
Prayer”, but also has begun a
seven-week “prayer emphasis”
study in each of the Sunday
School classes.
Whether a church is just
starting out in its prayer
ministry, or ready to begin the
transition from a “praying
church” to a “house of prayer”,
we heartily recommend to everyone
the “prayer coaching” ministry
of Called to Serve.

One
of the friendships I cherish
most is my friendship with
Dennis and Betty Jo Conner. One
reason for my excitement about
having their Called to Serve
Prayer Ministry lead a weekend
seminar at our church is the
opportunity it provided our
congregation to grow deeper in
their relationship to our
gracious, living, saving,
“ready-to-answer-prayer” God. In
their “Building a House of
Prayer” seminar we studied the
Bible, we gained new insights
into powerful and effective
prayer, and, most importantly,
we prayed. The end result was a
group of church members,
leaders, and staff who shared a
very special spiritual growth
experience and came away with a
renewed commitment to be people
of prayer. We began to see –
some for the first time – what
it means to “be” and “build” a
House of Prayer.
I am grateful for the obvious
priority of personal prayer
which the Conners beautifully
model, and the way God used them
to call our church to a higher
place of prayer. I commend them
and their “prayer coaching”
ministry to those who believe
that God will “build a house of
prayer” in personal lives and
churches today.

I
want to praise God for the work
He is doing through you both in
the “prayer coaching” ministry.
You made our staff-day of prayer
a memorable experience and a
powerful event. I appreciate the
way you structured the day to
allow for a progression of
prayer to focus on the ministry,
to allow time for each one of us
to remove any obstacles of sin,
and to focus on the people who
most need our support in the
heavenly realms.
Normally, a day of prayer seems
like a tedious and even boring
thing to do. Most people do not
like to pray. And, those who do
pray believe that thirty minutes
is about all they can handle.
You guys took us through the
whole day, and though we prayed
most of the day, it never seemed
tedious or boring! I believe we
experienced
a
great deal of victory for the
sake of the Kingdom of Light on
that day which will have an
immeasurable impact on the
future for years to come. |

This
letter is to let you know that
our people are still buzzing
after the stirring presentations
you made at our recent Prayer
Conference. As you know, this
was a first for our church, but
based on the response, it won’t
be our last. Your message on
Friday night, "Hearing and
Heeding the Voice of God" truly
set the tone for the entire
Prayer Conference. Both sessions
of your workshop on Saturday
received a five, which was the
highest evaluation possible.
I must admit, the idea of a
“prayer coach” was a bit of a
stretch for me at first, but you
made a believer out of me.
Prayer is hard; if it wasn’t,
everybody would be doing it.
Thank you for “coaching” us on
how to do the hard thing, so
that our prayer ministry can
become what we want it to be.
Your unique brand of humor,
coupled with
the power and practicality of
your messages, touched every
person present. We look forward
to working with you again real
soon.

Dennis
and Betty Jo Conner have a
wonderful heart for pastors and
their churches. They have spent
countless hours with me in
prayer, sharing, and
encouragement. Never have they
asked for anything in return.
They have shared a wealth of
information with my church, and
are graciously making themselves
available as needed. Dennis and
Betty Jo encourage the pastor
first by prayer, and then the
church in providing a wealth of
information of on being a House
of Prayer.
You have given much of yourself
to my church and myself at your
own time, and I appreciate that
greatly. The time you spent with
us on Sunday included a great
deal of teaching about being a
House of Prayer, and I was
encouraged as you guided my
church to pray for me and my
wife. T As a pastor I have
greatly valued your time
you have spent with our church
and with me in encouragement,
teaching, and prayer.

I
am convinced that Dennis and
Betty Jo Conner are addressing
the greatest need of churches in
America today. That great need
is to recognize the priority and
power of persistent prayer.
Dennis recently led our Men’s
“What If?” Prayer Conference at
Falls Creek.
The content of this
conference was life-changing for
me personally and for our men.
Dennis is faithfully following
God’s “calling”; to call
individuals to a life of prayer
as well as churches to truly
become “Houses of Prayer.” His
instruction at this conference
was challenging, insightful, and
saturated with God’s
Word. I would like to
wholeheartedly recommend the
Called To Serve Prayer Ministry
to you and your church.

In
my own 25+ years of ministry, I
have never observed a couple who
minister together with more love
for one another and those whom
they are serving/leading than
Dennis and Betty Jo. Their deep
love for the Lord and His
Kingdom’s work is reflected and
contagious in everything they
do.
Having seen the spiritual
impact the Lord has had on
thousands of people through
their 30 years of ministry gives
me full confidence that their
new “calling” from the Lord--“Building
A House of Prayer”--will be a
significant blessing for any
pastor and church.
